Metro Tasmania has appointed Megan Morse to the position of Chief Executive Officer.

Chair Michael Harris said Ms Morse had done an excellent job acting as our interim CEO since December last year.

“Following Ms Morse’s formal appointment today, I look forward to working with her as we continue to build on the organisation’s recent successes,” he said.

“Of particular importance in the medium-term will be the need to oversee the upgrade of Metro’s fleet with 100 new buses over the next four years.”

Mr Harris said Metro had received nearly 50 applications for the position from around Australia and are delighted that Megan formally proved she is the best candidate to lead us into the future.

He said Ms Morse had developed broad expertise in management roles in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors across Australia, with significant experience in front line operations.

Ms Morse said she was extremely pleased to be given the opportunity to continue the work she started as interim CEO.

“I am very much looking forward to the challenges of the role and building on the good work of my predecessors,” she said.

“It is an important and exciting time to have a leadership role in public transport in Tasmania.
“Around Australia there is an increasing focus on public transport investment and development.”
